Correctional Officer

Earn up to $40.18/hour + hiring incentives up to $5,000

To provide security and ensure the safety of inmates, detained juveniles, vulnerable civil commitments, staff and the general public. This position is responsible for the transportation, programming, court duties, control, observation and direct supervision of detained juveniles, adult inmate population, and to enforce rules, regulations and policies in compliance with the MN Department of Corrections requirements. This position is the initial point of contact for all incarcerated individuals in the County Jail.

Minimum Qualifications

In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following:

High school graduate or equivalent
Valid Minnesota Driver's license or the ability to obtain within 30 days

Preferred Experience Beyond Minimum Qualifications:

Any experience or education in law enforcement, criminal justice, or similar fields. Those with correctional, military, or similar experience may be eligible for lateral pay

911 Dispatcher

Earn up to $36.44/hour

To provide skilled communication by receiving requests and transmitting information for emergency and non-emergency assistance within the County. This position is responsible to maintain efficient communications between the public, law enforcement and other public service agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following:

High school graduate or equivalent.
One year of post-secondary education in a related field and seven months of experience in a call center, multitask oriented retail or restaurant service or similar field OR two years and seven months of progressively related experience in a call center, multitask oriented retail or restaurant service or similar field
Must have experience using a personal computer
Possess a typing speed of 40 words per minute

Preferred Experience Beyond Minimum Qualifications:

911 Dispatcher, police, fire, or ambulance dispatching experience with a city, county or state agency
Public safety experience such as previous work as a Community Services Officer, police clerk, police officer, volunteer firefighter, or paramedic

Seasonal Water Patrol/Park Officer

Earn up to $18.91/hour

To provide security and enforcement patrol of area lakes, rivers and county parks. This position is responsible for promoting the safety and well-being of all users of the parks, trails, and waterways through public relations, education and enforcement of local ordinances and statutes.

Minimum Qualifications

In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following:

High school graduate or equivalent
At least 18 years of age or will be by April 14, 2023
Possess a valid Minnesota Driver's License
Available to work weekends and holidays
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Experience Beyond Minimum Qualifications:

Experience with watercraft loading, unloading and operating
Recent first aid training within the past two years
Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within the past two years
Experience providing security and/or enforcement of rules
Experience as a law enforcement explorer or reserve police officer and
Successfully completed or currently enrolled in a law enforcement program
